IMPACTS
Local participants managed to gain knowledge on what is the living conditions like for migrant workers working and living in Singapore.

Main Programme
OUTCOMES

Apply 2 peer helping strategies to assist migrant workers in understanding their emotions

Facilitate help-seeking conversations to normalise the topic of mental health within the migrant workers
Local participants were immensely impacted by the stories of migrant workers. These stories allow participants to not only empathise with them as a vulnerable group but also see them beyond that lens.

Participants get to exchange meaningful conversations on their own strengths as an individual and give advice to one another. The strong friendships forged within the period of only 2.5 hours came to a shock as everyone was willing to be open-minded and broke the ice quickly to have conversations about their own personal life be it about their family or hobbies.

The smiles on their faces were also an indication that both locals and migrant workers had a positive impact felt through the activities planned for them.

OVERALL ACHIEVEMENTS

Volunteers Participation
We have managed to garner our expected volunteer participation of 12 and even went beyond to 13. Additionally, we had only expected the turn-up rate of 24 migrant workers that were joining us for our programme but the attendance turned out to be twofold of what we expected which was 50. Moreover, all the volunteers conveyed that they have learned valuable lessons from interactions with the migrant workers.

Facilitators' Adaptability
The biggest takeaway was the ability of facilitators to adapt critically to the unprecedented changes and brought about a successful and meaningful experience for both participants and migrant workers. This was a golden opportunity to learn from the mistakes made and continue learning in order to fruit better results in the future.
